LHCC Job Description CLASS TITLE: Lead Clinical Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Clinical Services

ACCOUNTABLE TO: CEO

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Under general direction, provides oversight for clinicians providing mental health counseling to adults and groups, conducts diagnostic interviews/assessments, and provides crisis intervention as needed. Work requires individual judgment within established policies, rules, and the client’s individual treatment plan.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for ensuring all therapeutic and program components adhere to regulatory guidelines (42CFR, 45CFR, Chapter 397 FS, Chapter 394 FS, Chapter 916 FS, etc.), maintaining license standards (65D-30, 65E-14, etc.), and Medicaid compliance
  • Responsible for reviewing counselor documentations
  • Responsible for the weekly review of all clinical charts at their program location to ensure content adheres to the above-listed guidelines, standards, specifications, etc.
  • Responsible for participating in all clinical aspects of monitoring, certification, and accreditation meetings
  • Responsible for new clinical staff orientation and training, including monitoring work for accuracy during the introductory period
  • Responsible for ensuring that persons served are seen by counselors within 24 hours of admission
  • Responsible for CQI activities and outcome measures of respective programs.
  • Facilitate bi-weekly clinical staff meeting and provide agenda, attendance, and meeting minutes
  • Rotate weekly 24/7 on-call responsibility with assigned staff
  • Weekly group clinical supervision with program counselors and monthly individual clinical supervision with program counselors
  • Responsible for caseload due to overflow of clients when counselors are at their maximum ratio of 12:1
  • Attend monthly meetings with the CEO
  • Familiarity with community mental health resources and medical billing

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND PERFORMANCE:

  • Assesses, diagnoses, and provides psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and support to individuals and families seeking mental health services. Treatment modalities shall be sensitive to culture, age, gender, and specific mental health problems
  • Responds to crisis and consultation needs of the service area according to LHCC protocols for crisis response
  • Provides care coordination as needed with clients to ensure the coordination of care and to facilitate access to needed services
  • Documents and maintains client contacts, care coordination, crisis/consult contacts, and community contacts according to ethical standards and organizational protocols
  • Attends staff meetings and peer reviews, team service and coordination meetings, in-service training, and outside service training as provided
  • Provides consultation and cooperation with LHCC staff, area physicians, and other professionals as necessary in developing treatment plans for clients, client care coordination, and inpatient referrals when necessary
  • Meets productivity standards in accordance with expectations outlined by agency policy
  • Assigns clients to therapists
  • Maintains progress notes, treatment plans, and other records in accordance with LHCC policy while maintaining confidentiality requirements for client privacy (i.e., HIPAA)
  • Facilitates meetings, reviews files before release, supervises PIT’s, and signs paperwork
  • AHCA Level II background screening
  • Maintain yearly/biyearly requirements of CPR and Restraint Prevention as well as other competencies as required by the position

SUPERVISION – RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS:

  • Provides clinical oversight of Outpatient Services, Case Management Services, Day Treatment/Support Services, and Residential Home Services

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s Degree required in Social Work or related field PLUS Five (5) years minimum of demonstrated work experience in the mental health field with two (2) years post Licensure experience in mental health programs
  • Must complete Credible LHCC functionality and overview training within the first month of employment and maintain Certification throughout employment
  • LCSW or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
  • Maintain such license and certification through meeting Continuing Education requirements throughout employment
